The Careworn City

After yesterday's post about the upcoming Disney version of New Orleans, I felt the need to refresh myself with the work of Cynthia Hogue, a friend and mentor who will soon release a collaborative work about Katrina evacuees. Working with photographer Rebecca Ross, Hogue performed a series of interviews with evacuees and produced poems based on those reviews. The resulting pieces are heart-breakingly beautiful.
